My Latest Creation: Bed Headboard
Okay, so I've been working on this project for what seems like forever now, and I'm glad to say it's pretty much completed. Our bed is so simple and just sits on a frame without any sort of design/decor what-so-ever. Seriously, it's boring. So I decided to take that problem into my own hands and created a "floating headboard" for the bed. I probably could've moved them down an inch or two closer to the bed, but I anticipate getting some pillows to throw on sometime and wanted to leave some height for that. I painted some canvases and found a super cute damask stencil. The photos make the canvases look black, but they are really a dark grape shade of purple.)
Please don't mind the bedding, it needs some work of it's own. I really would love to get some cute pillows to throw on so it doesn't look so "blah". I will admit though, I have a hard time paying $12 per pillow and have contemplated making my own after my couch pillows turned out surprisingly decent for me having made them. Plus, there are so many cute fabrics out there, I love going to the fabric shop and being "inspired" and excited by all of the incredibly cute material. (But if you happen to know where to get cheap cute pillows, for the sake of me probably not having much time to make my own anytime soon, please let me know!)

Homemade Peach Jam
I'm attempting to make some peach freezer jam this weekend.....for the first time ever. This could be quite a grand idea I have. I've made this really cute label to put on the jars as back up. So what if the jam doesn't look or taste good, at least the jars look good, right? (This label is also on Purple Paisley, as well as a Utah pin design I've been working on for a school project. Check it out!)
Keith Urban 2009!
Oh yes, my long time running tradition of hitting up the Keith Urban concert each time he comes to Utah is running strong, and this year he put on a GREAT show. (as always. But REALLY, how BAD can a Keith Urban concert be?). I was a little bummed that my good friend Angie wasn't as lucky, and had to break her Keith concert streak as she couldn't make it this year. But my mom and I went, and had a good ol' time none the less. Our seats were pretty good, a lot better than I had anticipated. 12th row baby. Not floor seating (which I actually don't think is that great to begin with as everyone's head is the same and all you can see is the back of people's heads) but lower bowl 12th row. Even better is the fact that Keith is so good at interacting with the audience (and a ton of fun to watch as he performs and wails on his guitar). We were actually pretty close to him for a few songs as he did them from a platform near us. I'm talking close enough to see the sweat run off his arm, down his guitar and drip on the floor. Oh yeah....it was THAT good. Anyways, here are some pics from the concert. I'm eagerly looking forward to his next tour and a hopeful stop in Utah. If there are more like Keith back in Australia....I'd love to visit sometime
